One thing that I have learned about St. Mary’s is that its really hard to control children those ages. What I mean is that some kids do not want to play at all. I have to find a way for everybody to play. Some of the activities that I thought were appropriate were the obstacle course. Kids would be doing a lot of movements and it seems to be there favorite thing to do. Also they love playing tag. If we change the way they move around the better the game will be.
Working with PRE K was a lot of fun. I find that working with them is easier then the older kids. Reason being is that when I did work with them they cooperated and they participated in the games we had in store for them. If I could work with PRE K again I would
I think working on fine motor activities is something something we should work on in Physical Education. When I worked with kids downstairs in the cafeteria we played a little tag game where they had to do some sort of movement. The kids loved playing it. Plus it also developed new motor movements for them, which made it entertaining for them
What I have learned from this experience is that who have to be more discipline around younger children or that they will do anything they want. I am getting use to being around children a lot more and feeling more comfortable in teaching them more skills. I just have to put myself in there shoes and take a small step at a time. I am definitely becoming more of a teacher everytime I was around them.

One thing I had a tough time with was trying to get everybody to participate. I had to realize that that not every kid wanted to play. So what I did is that at the end were we all participate in a game I would play a game that the kids want to play. It worked very well for me because I got to new the kids better and it helps me for the future to figure out what games kids there age like to play.
One idea that I might do to resolve this idea is that I would pick 2 or 3 games and break up into groups letting the kids decide what group they want to be in to play the game. If that doesn’t work. I would sit down with them and tell them what games they like to play and promise then that I will play there game later on that day with them

lab 3
For Mike (whose a 1st grade 6 year old boy) and Casey( whose a 1st grade 5 year old girl), we had to observe how they leaped, horizontal jump, and slide. For Mike and Casey, they did really well with the leaping. they took off with on one foot and landed on the other foot and at one period they had both feet off the floor. Mike had there forward reach with arm opposite the lead foot, while Casey didn’t have that happen for her. For the Jumping both Casey and Mike had problems. Casey and Mike couldn’t extend there arms forcefully forward and up. They both could flex both arms and knees. While Mike couldn’t bring his arms down once he landed, Casey did.
The strategey I used is to sit down the kids while they are playing downstairs in the cafeteria and play with them. I always let them win and while we are playing we talk about the things each person likes. It seems to be working each time I go downstairs. Last time the kids wanted me to play with them.
One of the things I have noticed is that the kids like to beat the college kids. Everytime I let them win I would get little bit better. They like to have a challenge. Which isn’t that surprising because I was the same way when I was there age and I still am that way.

lab 2
One of the students I observed was a 6-year-old 1st grader name Casey. When Casey had to do the running both of her feet did leave the ground, but she didn’t bend her elbows. She also didn’t bend her leg 90 degrees. When she did galloping Casey did really well. She stepped forward with the lead foot and followed by a step with the trailing foot to a position adjacent to or behind the lead foot. Both of her feet did leave the ground and her arms did bend and lifted to waist level. When it came time for her to hop he did everything right except for he didn’t swing his nonsupport leg to produce force for lift off.
The second student I observe was a 1st grade 6-year-old boy name Michael. Now Mike was perfect throughout each category Everything we had to observe he did perfectly. I would think the hopping would give him trouble because most kids don’t use enough force take off.

My group decided to play tag using the running, galloping, and hopping. Karlyn had to shout out who had to chase who. Either the giraffes had to chase the elephants or the elephants had to chase the giraffes. The kids loved to and I quote “Run Really REALLY fast”. What we also did was that we let them choose which movement we had to do to get the other person out. Some said sliding some said crawling and some said skipping. The kids had a blast.

Task A
The older the kid is the more there motor development skills are. When i observed them they seem to be doing ok but not great. When trying to teach them the correct skills they go back to the old ways. Even though the age differences are really close there are differences between each grade. It was pretty hard watching the motor movements with these kids. When talking to my group we both came up with different answered and we had to talk about it until we all agreed. The best time to actually check on somebody was at the end of the day where we can work with the kids idividually. Like for example I was playing tag with Michael. Everytime we got taged we had to either hop, gallop and ect. until one of us gets tagged again. Everytime we get taged we change the concept on how we get tagged next. Playing games at the end of the day is alot of fun because each kid played there favorite game. This shows me what kids there age likes to play. Maybe it will help me for the future.
